19 of Medvedev's 21 titles have been earned on hard courts

A resurgent Daniil Medvedev secured his maiden championship for over two years with success over Corentin Moutet in the competition final.

The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a torrid period, managing just a single victory at the big events and undergoing a difficult moment at the US Open.

His unpredictability on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serve in especial - caused him dropping out of the top ten and ultimately separating with long-time trainer Cervara.

Now working with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, he has steadily progressed in the recent weeks - peaking in a tightly fought competitive triumph over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.

It is the player's maiden trophy after the Italian tournament and maiden on a hard court since March of that year.

The win also means he has won 21 titles at twenty-one distinct tournaments.

"It's the first time I am participating in a tournament with my both daughters at once, so to win a championship is particularly special," said tennis professional Medvedev.

"This championship is in dedication of my child Victoria, because the maiden victory I achieved when my first daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."

The tennis star, the former major winner, had failed in his previous six championship matches, comprising in that event earlier this year.

His retrieving strategy and recurring outbursts on court had prompted observers to question if his skill to compete at the highest level was over.

However the player has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, striving to come to the net and compete positively, backed up by an improved serving game.

He fought back from a break down in the initial set against the tricky opponent, securing four of the final five points to go ahead.

The pair exchanged breaks in the following set before Moutet, attempting for his first tour victory, seized the initiative to create a decider.

The opponent rescued 4 early break points in a competitive third set before the champion won the break to fifteen to close out the victory.

Suitably, he clinched the win with a rally at the net, with Moutet unable to manage a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
