Cars in Germany's City Discovered Marked with Swastikas in Human Blood, Police Confirm

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Law Enforcement
Authorities stated they were contacted by a man who discovered a automobile in Hanau covered with red-colored substance

Approximately fifty cars have been marked with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, police confirm law enforcement.

Cars, exterior walls and postal boxes were defaced, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they reported in a release.

Law enforcement say they were contacted during the night on Wednesday, when a individual discovered that a car in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored fluid.

The fluid had been drawn in the form of a swastika, they added.

Police then located many other smeared cars and building exteriors in the surrounding area.

Swastikas are banned in Germany under regulations outlawing the public display of Nazi symbols.

Law enforcement state early analysis indicate the substance was probably human bodily fluid.

"At present there remains no lead as to its origin; authorities are not yet informed of any physical harm in association with the event," they commented.

City officials stated they were attempting "to solve the incident" and have asked to the community for details.

An important representative stated the incident rendered him without words and needed to be resolved promptly.

"This act affects the center of Hanau and reopens the pain of the extremist violent incident five years ago," he stated on social media, mentioning the murder of nine people by a gunman focusing on people of immigrant origin in 2020.
